Frank Draws Italy continued.....

I tried to make the painting above unfortunately i ruined baby Jesus. But here is the part with Mary.

Gallileo from Uffizi.

Frank Draws Italy

I know it's 2 1/2 years late... but better late than never. Especially since having a huge sketchbook.

Florence Lion

St. Peter's Basillica

Raphael's Mistress

Michelangelo's "David" (The Real One)

Botticelli's "Birth of Venus". I drew this while seeing the real painting at the Uffizi. And seein it was what inspired me to make the painting on the 1st post.

A long Overdue Update.

Okay well people have probably wondered what happened to me and my sketches. Well I now have a brand new scanner and reclaimed Photoshop. Okay I drew this sketch of Betty Brant earlier this year

I based her looks off of the actress who played Betty in the Spider-Man trilogy, Elizabeth Banks. I was inspired to this after seeing Phil Jimenez' gorgeous versions of her and watch Elizabeth in Zack & Miri Make A Porno

I did this sketch the other day of "No Future" Candy Cane from the video game series Rumble Roses. Definitely one of my favorite characters.

I have been a huge Godzilla fan as of late, It has to do with getting a hold of some of the old movies and Most of all James Rolfe's (aka the Angry Video Game Nerd) "Godzillathon" Reviews on YouTube.

I always was disappointed that Godzilla lost to King Kong in King Kong vs. Godzilla and not to mention that movie is hard to take seriously that both the monsters look cute and cuddly. So in my sketch i drew monsters to be taken seriously and make Godzilla dominate the fight.

Rebirth of Venus.

As you've all seen in my first blog post I did a painting of Sandro Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" only with a Florence background. I've always been a fan of the original painting, the Character and Greek/Roman Mythology itself. I'm putting a Greek Mythology planned book dummy based on a series of Mythology stories I enjoyed. Here are a few character designs.

Venus / Aphrodite

I made her look like Botticelli's version and facial features of an actress who played her on a recently cancelled great show.

Psyche

(I have to make her good enough to make goddess of love jealous)

Anyways most of you know that I love to include myself in my work but I cannot decide which god I should have portray me.

Here are the choices Post your choice:
*Adult Cupid / Eros god of love (Lead male)
The rest are cameos
*Ares (god of war)
*Hercules
*Young Zeus
*Pygmalion (if included)
*Hermes /Mercury

Bye Bye Bettie!

Hey everyone, well everyone has probably wondered where's I've been well I worked the Christmas shift, My Photoshop went on the fritz, and had no chance to scan my newest work.

In memory of
Bettie Page
1923-2008

If you check back of my earliest post I did a rendered sketch of Bettie Page which i drew back in July. I was saddened to hear the Bettie passed away from a heart attack. Once i found out about her passing I wanted to make a tribute sketch and I got around to making one before 2008 ended. I know that she lived a full life and that people can't live forever but she was somebody I admired, especially with me being a pin-up artist. Bettie was a troubled girl who was often mislead. She had a gift and she wanted nothing more to make people happy with her talent. She was a great muse for me that actually inspired 1 or 2 characters I made in projects I've illustrated and will truly be missed.

Rest in Peace Bettie
Godspeed!
